I wanted to send birthday gifts to my friend who lives in Arizona, USA. So, I had to do the following activities:
1. look for proper sources (online websites)
2. Choose suitable gift items which I think that she will most likely like. (a necklace and bouquet)
3. Place order
4. Do the payment
5. Choose delivery type, time and location

I think there are several supply chain activities in even such a simple case. Its fascinating that most of our day to day actions fits us into some or the other roles of supply chain and we dont even realize that.
