I work in artwork and packaging in a global pharmaceutical company.
The function that I work in is an integral part of supply chain as we can’t distribute medicines in blank cartons, bottles or without instructions for use or mandated regulatory requirements. Our contribution sits towards the end of the supply chain, as goods are packaged after they are manufactured and before they are distributed.
Our own supply chain involves input from markets and regulators across the globe for content and demand, manufacturing sites for drawing and specifications and BOM, Artwork studios to produce and distribute digital files, device Manufacturers for bottles, syringes etc and print suppliers to manufacture printed components. All of this is underpinned by process and quality teams and a software platform to manage our pack changes.
